Affordable housing is critical to the long term economic development of the Commonwealth. Without an adequate supply of units for working families, Massachusetts firms have been unable to grow their employment levels. In addition, it is critical for the State to build on the success of efforts to de-densify subsidized housing and raise the standard of living in the existing inventory.
Finally, persistent homelessness in our inner cities speaks to the special needs of a diverse population that runs the gamut from single men with substance abuse problems to families facing foreclosure.
Anthony Petruccelli has:
· Sponsored legislation that led to the successful redevelopment of the Maverick Gardens Housing Development
· Co-Sponsored the Housing Bond Bill designed to increase state production of affordable units and redevelop older, dilapidated inventory.
